Inexpensive Valentine's Day Flowers | Rustic Farmhouse Bouquet
This Valentine's Day, I wanted to gift my mother a pretty rustic farmhouse style bouquet. However, the options for pre-made bouquets were incredibly pricey- starting from $60 plus shipping and handling charges! I decided to make my own and it only cost me $16! I will show you how I created this affordable beauty-
Materials used:
4 bouquets from Trader Joe's that totaled to be $13. I bought two filler bouquets, a petite bouquet, and a bundle of tulips.
1/2 yard of burlap fabric from Hobby Lobby that cost me around $2 after using a 40% coupon I found on their website. I ended up only needing half of this amount, so I could have managed with 1/4th of a yard instead.
Craft paper, a heart shaped puncher, and baker's twine I had on hand for the hang tag.
Steps to create this whimsical rustic arrangement:
1. Trim the ends of the filler bouquets to desired height. Lay the filler bouquets out on a flat surface to start out your arrangement. This will act as the base layer.
2. Trim your second (middle) layer of of flowers. Here I chose deep purple tulips- I loved the simplicity and elegance of these particular florals. Place these mid layering flowers on top of the base layer filler bouquets.
3. Trim your petite bouquet and arrange on top of the middle layer. This is the final and top layer of the bouquet.
4. Create a "burlap burrito" to wrap the bouquet in. Fold all 4 edges of the fabric to create smoother lines. Then wrap the burlap around the flowers.
5. Cut out a hang tag from the craft paper. Pierce the top with the heart puncher. Loop baker's twine around the burlap and attach the hang tag.
Finally, enjoy your Farmhouse fresh bouquet that you made for a fraction of the retailer's price!
